What are edibles?
"Edibles" are foods or drinks in which cannabinoids are absorbed through the digestive tract. The body processes them differently than when smoking or vaping – that's why they differ. Onset of effect , intensity and duration of effect .
Why the grassroots decide
For reliable edibles, the final recipe is less important than the base : This refers to the medium to which the active ingredients are "carried". This affects dosability, taste, stability and shelf life.
- Fat bases (butter, oil, MCT): versatile for cooking & baking
- Sugar/sweet bases (syrup, sugar, honey): practical for drinks & sweets
- Alcohol bases (tinctures): concentrated, small volumes, precise application

Sugar-based & liquid edibles (drinks & sweets)
Syrup, sugar, or honey are well-suited if you want to dose liquids or create sweet applications. The key here is consistency: same basis, same dosage logic.

Alcohol-based edibles (concentrated & direct)
Tinctures are concentrated and are particularly suitable when small amounts are desired per application. Dosage and responsibility are even more important here, because small mistakes can make a big difference.

Texture & stability (gummies, sauces, drinks)
Depending on the recipe, you need not only a base, but also the right structuring agents: Gelatin (classic for gummies), xanthan gum (for stability & viscosity) and gum arabic (for texture & binding). This doesn't change your fundamentals – it just makes the results more reproducible.

Effect & Absorption
With edibles, the effects and peak typically set in later than with inhalation – but the effect often lasts longer. How quickly it works depends, among other things, on the base, meal, metabolism and tolerance.
Dosage & Safety
The most common risk with edibles is "refueling too soon". Therefore, dosage is not optional here – it is the most important part. If you only read one article, make it this one: How to properly dose cannabis edibles .
Suitable bases: MAGIC MCT OIL · MAGIC COCO OIL · MAGIC SYRUP BASE
Storage & Shelf Life
Light, heat and oxygen alter active ingredients over time. When preparing or storing edibles, proper storage determines stability and consistent effectiveness.
Law & Responsibility
Responsibility means: dosing, educating, storing safely and obeying rules – especially in everyday life and traffic.
